Seriously, this is the FIRST time that congress has (officially) come after a private citizen for exercising his 1st Amendment rights. Just makes me wonder what's next...

Good point. Going after a corporation for exercising its 1st amendment rights must've whetted their appetite for more!

They've already perfected going after private citizens for exercizing their 2nd amendment rights. They're just working their way through the Constitution until you're not allowed to do anything, it seems.

Couple of points I want to make here.

First, if this isn't the most amazing backlash and, of course, only someone as well known as Rush could pull it off. If the above, which you point out correctly is the de facto result of the congresses action on this matter, had been you or I, we'd have no recourse but to suffer the possible consequences of this very evil act.

Here's a guy pursuing his happiness as guaranteed by the constitution. In the course of this pursuit he ends up doing the job he is best suited for. And the congress of his country, I am STILL shocked, actually takes an action that could have cost him his job! suppose this had been you or I? We could lose our job and not have the power of Rush Limbaugh to push back. I'm not laughing at this congressional action.

But, next point, Rush Limbaugh has effectively dealt with this matter, taken their stupid action and turning it into one of the biggest PR coups or our era. seriously, this whole thing should be in the history books.

Finally, and I heard Rush alluding to yet another action he may take, I hope that after Rush rubs their stupid noses in what they did all week to what has to be their complete agony, that he'll file a lawsuit.

I mean isn't signing that letter a violation of the oath of office these people took? And no, it isn't the same thing as that congressional condemnation of Move-on.Org. Move-on is NOT a private citizen. It is a 503(c) corp and as such it isn't even supposed to be involved in politics. So if Move-on wanted to file a lawsuit they'd be opening themselves to scrutiny re those pesky IRS rules.

If Rush files a lawsuit I can see this thing going to the Supreme Court and a possible censoring of congress.

I'm perfectly serious.

I hope those people that signed that thing are in unbearable pain and agony this week. Can you imagine what with all the play this thing is getting?

And I hope Rush files a lawsuit. More to protect the lowly you and I than anything else.
