CONGRESS HAS ALREADY ACKNOWELDGED THE TURKISH MASSACRES OF ARMENIANS AS GENOCIDE. In 1981 President Ronald Reagan recognized the Armenian genocide in a speech about the Holocaust. In 1984 Congress passed a resolution setting April 24 as a day of remembrance of the Armenian Genocide. In 1996 and 2004 resolutions were passed that limited the usage of U.S. aid to Turkey that was being used to fund the Turkish lobby in the United States.

The fact that they are bringing this up now says they are only interesting in cutting off supply routes to our troops in Iraq, 70% of which are in Turkey. It's all about politics.
