I just literally stopped on FNC. They reported Shatner is not being cast in the coming Star Trek film, although Nimoy is.

We're all over at Trekmovie.com, trying to pry something out of Roberto Orci, who's keeping a bit of a web presence over there on the boards. One thread he's been posting to and monitoring for fan reaction and opinion is up to almost 400 posts now, so Abrams and Co. know exactly how we feel about it. He just won''t throw us a bone. Not yet, anyway. But, he did say yesterday that the basic story they pitched to Shatner was the same one they pitched to Abrams and Paramount, and that ended up being the one they wrote - extrapolate from there. It sounds more and more like Shat either doesn't like his part, it's not big enough, and/or it's a money issue.
