I did read the thread; 26 is no answer to my question.

Maybe cyborg can explain it to you?

I do not think JeanS answered the question. I will say that people who do not have animal companions might not understand why petfood recalls are important. My FIL doesn’t understand why I love cats so I dunno. Maybe it’s an older generation thing.

Also why post such statement in a tread devoted to petfood?? It's kinda inflammatory.

Hmmm. It seemed clear enough to me.

I think that all JeanS was saying that people are more important that animals (as much as you love cats, if you were put in the horrible position of having to chose between saving your cat and saving your baby, I think you’d save your baby).

Petronski’s reasonable question was did she think anyone disagreed with a baby being more important than a pet.

On post #26, paulat called her a “total jerk” for saying that “human products recalls are more important than the pet food recalls”.

Therefore paulat was a person who disagreed with JeanS, and believes pets are more important than people.

That looks like an answer to Petronski’s question. Yes, there is at least one FReeper -paulat- who thinks that a pet is more valuable than a baby, and anyone who disagrees with him is a “total jerk”.

Did I miss something?

OK, I can see that viewpoint. Time and place for everything and all that.

Well being a vegetarian health advocate and activist, I meet some folks who really do care about animals more than people. It’s a little irritating. I do not use personal attacks anymore because it just gets people all defensive.

Well, living within spittin' distance of San Fransisco, Berkeley, and Santa Cruz, I have no shortage of people near me who really do care about animals more than people.

I do not use personal attacks anymore because it just gets people all defensive.

I pick and chose. I've been known to occasionally use personal attacks precisely because it gets people all defensive.

Ridiculous.

Purina does buy ingredients from China and uses them in some of their foods.

Actually, most pet food places do these day. You may find a few that do not, but not very many.

Ridiculous.

Which part?

1)That paulat believes pets are more important, and calls someone who disagrees a "total jerk", or

2) That I believe that someone who says that someone who thinks people are more important than pets is a total jerk, is someone who actually thinks that pets are more important than people?

OK. Reasonable stance. Let’s ask the expert on what paulat really thinks:

paulat, do you believe that pets are more important than people?

Having received love, affection and loyalty from both...I believe God was right when he ordered his Kingdom.

God created animals before He created people. Your answer doesn’t say if you believe pets are more important than people.

Let me try again to extract a straight answer for a simple question out of you:

Do you believe pets are more important than people?

This is a yes or no question.

I don’t believe you understand the word “ordered.” It has nothing to do with who was created first.

Is neither a yes, nor a no, ya know?

It's kinda inflammatory.

Apparently so, I was called a "stupid jerk" for my comment although I don't see how it could possibly have been construed as inflammatory by anyone.

I didn't know this was a "pet's only" thread. If it was meant to be, it should have been posted in the pets topic in the General Interest forum.

I looked at the link, the first recall item listed can kill unborn children and I thought that was worth mentioning.

My apologies for bothering to comment on this thread. It was a waste of my time and annnoyed too many thin skinned people to make it worth discussing.

Please go away. My aunt and uncle are in the San Diego fires. If you don’t leave me alone during this horrible time, I will file a formal complaint.
