People have noted the acceleration of the “signs” since the beginning of time. It is hard not to focus on the moment in which you were living.

I don’t try to predict. The Bible tells me not to as well.

Reviewing the signs listed by Pastor Hagee
It seems speed of travel, communication and knowledge have all
gone exponential since the founding of Israel in 1948.

I don't predict. I watch the signs for His coming.

NAU Matthew 24:33 so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.

It seems speed of travel, communication and knowledge have all...

Art Bell wrote a book called "The Quickening" lol.

I don't recall the bible saying that when communication and travel speed up, Christ is just around the corner.

How much faster does it get?

Is there a code of some sort in the Bible that allows you or Pastor Hagee to interpret the current "rate of change" as a signal that Christ returns in the next decade?

Is the rate of change double, triple or quadruple? Is it a true rate of change, or merely our ability to see it and record it?

The invention of radio or TV didn't do it. Computers are getting faster, but we can't envision the next step in technological development. Is the moment nano-technology kicks in the moment Christ returns?

Back to wars, earthquakes, etc. They aren't really hastening. We are just more in tune with them. An awful lot of people thought the 6 day war was "it" at the time too. They were wring. Here we are, decades later.

This all seems rather silly.

If you pursue this stuff out of interest, as a hobby, or even as a meaningless academic pursue, great. More power to you. People love looking for "patterns" in things. It is fun to do.

However, if it begins to become the central theme of your faith, I would suggest you are missing the whole point.

Christ preached love first and foremost, not "interpreting signs for when he returns." Read his words, not Pastor Hagee's and you will see this.

Walking around the city square with a sign that screams "The end is near!" probably drives more people away from The Lord than to him. Especially since people have been doing it throughout history, and they've continued to be wrong. It serves no purpose but to make Christians look somewhat foolish.
