the words are in quotes, meaning that she said the words. This is not true. She agreed with an equivalent statement, but didn’t say those words.
No matter. She has opened herself to criticism and will have to take the consequences of her words. It’s getting harder and harder to justify her rantings.
You're going to have to justify yourself theologically in terming what she said a "rant", and I don't think you can do it.

Don’t you mean the consequences of somebody else not being able to handle the truth? Christ was a Jew. Christ was the Messiah. Does that mean Christ was anti-semitic? Now there’s an absurdity for you.

Why bother to justify her? I am almost certain she doesn’t care whether you do or not. I adore Ann, and her bluntness. Then again, I don’t have a requirement to be 100% pleased with anyone. She is very smart and very funny, and success must agree with her,she is more attractive now than ten years ago.
I disagree that they were ‘equivalent’ statements. She did not say “Jews need to be...” anything, she said “Christians consider themselves...”. The first statement conveys a directive and the second a descriptive. The statements are different in intent. Fox News should retract their restated quote.
Ann is a lawyer, she knows the Constitution, she knows Jews are free to exercise their religion and nobody can take that away from them. Ann has the opinion that everyone including Jews would be better if they were Christian. I disagree; Christians are mostly sinners and many are frauds. The world would not be better off if everyone labeled themselves ‘Christian’ because many so-called Christians are not Christians but members of a herd.
To be a true Christian is a blessing. If you consider yourself a true Christian, then you have a gift that can only come from above. You cannot be a Christian by saying ‘I am a Christian’ nor can you be one by publicly proclaiming the catch phrases and passages of Christianity such as John 3:16. It is something much more deeply spiritual and powerful that makes a true Christian. It is something that guides every thought and lives in every word.
Most persons calling themselves Christians are not Christians, they are trying to be Christians, they are practicing to be Christians but they are not yet near. But Jesus made it clear to keep knocking at the door and never give up.
The fact that so many are outraged over her comments is the REAL hard thing to fathom, in my mind.
Ann states the obvious, that Christians would like to see others become Christians.
Donny Douch then feigned incredulity that someone would have the audacity to think that his beliefs were not the be all and end all making up the center of the universe, and that someone has a faith they take seriously enough to try and convince others.
Just because someone would like to see someone else convert to Christianity does not mean they hate, despise, or discriminate against that same 'someone else'.
We, as a society, have GOT to stop letting the PC police turn us into woosified dolts who will be offended at the slightest conceptual difference of faith.
As a Christian, I believe that all who accept Jesus are better off. Including Jews.
Including islamics.
Including Buddhists.
Only a fascist would have problems with that kind of positive thinking. I do not believe that Ann is guilty of rantings.
Other religions also believe that their teachings are correct.

It wasn’t an equivalent, really. She said she thought it would be “better” if all were Christians. That can mean nothing more than that it is better if the inhabitants of a country have some solid common ground. It could also just mean that she believes Christianity is better than other religions, which is, implicitly, what the believer in any religion believes.
She never said anything about Jews “needing” to become perfected, or to become Christians.
