“They put me to sleep in yesterday’s debate.”

So I’m not the only one who felt that way? No one seemed to have any fire in their belly. You can’t win a debate - especially against eight other people - by being timid.

I really like Huckabee, but he doesn’t come out swinging and stealing the spotlight, which is what the GOP needs right now. If all the good sound bites go to Rudy and Mitt, they’ll easily take the party nod.

You have two hours of debate with nine candidates. 30% of the time is taken up by the persons asking the questions. 10% of the time is breaks/commercials. That leaves 60% of the time divided nine ways = 8 minutes per candidate to answer approximately 8-10 questions (not always divided equally between candidates and not counting applause time). I think Huckabee probably had about 2 minutes yesterday to talk about where he was coming from on taxes. These aren’t debates, they are sound bites and attempts at “Gotchas”.

Candace: So I’m not the only one who felt that way?

I third that motion! The spoke mostly in generalities and provided very little detail.
