Democratic politician in the very first sentence. Amazingly, there is absolutely no mention of her party affiliation (nor that of former Sen. James Abzourek) in the entire article.
Also, she signed her letter as "Mary Rose Oakar Kareem Shora." What is the significance of the "Kareem Shora" bit? Can someone please explain what "Kareem Shora" indicates.
