IMO, if the father owns the building for HIS company, he probably has a lot more disposable income than the $45K income declared.

For example, his automobiles, insurance, fuel, repairs are all owned by the company and expensed accordingly.

Also, he might be taking a sum...let's say $50K a year from the business as 'rent' on the building...along with other perks.

The father is probably got an LLC for himself, so that the income goes to to that entity, rather than directly to him as income.
