Posted on 10/07/2007 8:54:36 PM PDT by pax_et_bonum
humblegunner has been in the hospital since last Wednesday, October 3.
He has been extremely ill and today, after four days of antibiotics and the removal of a large amount of fluid from the area surrounding his right lung, he is finally beginning to feel better. His doctors have said that he will be hospitalized for several more days.

Prayers offered up. Pax, send the poor man a six-pack and some Bambi burgers — that’ll perk him up!

He's not the most... patient patient...That's an understatement. :-)
He hasn't snarled at the doctors has he?

He's not the most... patient patient...I've learned some of my most important lessons from less than patient patients. In fact, because I'm not the best patient, I went to med school at 30 years old!
(A personal comment bump for HG.)

Humble has to undergo surgery tomorrow morning. The surgery is scheduled for 6:30am. He will probably be out of it for the rest of the day.
As to the surgery he would not be specific. Basically that they were going to “cut him open and take out stuff like the abscess and liquid in his lungs”.
He would not / could not go into more detail than that.
He was not very happy about the entire process and was in pain from both the lung tube and the gout in his wrist.
He did appreciate that good folks were praying for him.
I know that I missed a bunch of people, but this is the only ping list that I have.
