Here’s another thought, when my dad was a young lad, he saw the drown body of one of his friends being pulled from the Mississippi.

He took it upon his young shoulders to tell the boy’s mom, and was grieving with her when his friend walked in.

It wasn’t he who had drowned, but a child from up river who looked like him.

My dad regrets to this day (he’s 81 now) what he put the mom through that day.
