If this has been previously stated, forgive my repetition: The Imus incident last April was a dry run for MM. It is most likely they wanted to see how quickly or how deeply they had to go in order to take down a Hillary critic. In Imus' case, the root network was already established, it just had to be fertilized with angry rhetoric.
MM did not count on the amount of support Rush has, which was lacking in the Imus case.

In Imus' case, the root network was already established, it just had to be fertilized with angry rhetoric.I'm pretty sure that the whole "Imus thing" was payback for that corespondents dinner where Imus was the MC, and he said some really harsh things about the Clintons. Heck, I remember being shocked at what he said when I heard it. After all, he was talking about the sitting President of the United States. And while those things may have been true, I didn't like them said about the President. I have always agreed (to a point) with what Harry Truman said (paraphrased), "you may not respect the man, but dammit you owe respect to the office of the President."
