So this isn’t just a matter of “one spokesman (Madden) didn’t get the straight story or Mitt’s true view on this before relaying it to Huffington”. That Madden generally spoke out of turn. That is an argument that some of Mitt’s supporters are using.
The Mittwits have been grasping at straws and playing a game of denial over this. This major screw-up along with weak fundraising/cash-on-hand numbers looks like a really, really bad week for them.
