So this moronic rodent has emerged from his bung hole again? Yawn. I’d have greater confidence if Mr. Roberts were in charge of “homeland security”. And, what wanker thought up that title?

“Illegal migrants really degrade the environment. I’ve seen pictures of human waste, garbage, discarded bottles and other human artifact in pristine areas,” Chertoff said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. “And believe me, that is the worst thing you can do to the environment.”

Egad, who put this imbicile in charge of home security? He thinks that leaving a human turd is the worst thing you could do to the environment. The terrorists are probably rolling around on the floor with laughter.

GW please do something right and replace this clown with someone more competent and who is not just a “yes man” to you.

To curb illegal immigration, the U.S. government plans to complete 370 miles of fencing and put 200 miles of vehicle barriers on the southwest border by the end of 2008. But this has brought complaints that the fence and barriers are harmful to the environment.

It could be built in months if they were serious

Any pictures of what it looks like and will it be effective

” human waste, garbage, discarded bottles and other “

geez, sounds just like the description my husband gave today of laborers of mexican decent, that are working on his UNION job and how disgusted he is that they leave their human, or in their case for doing so - subhuman-, waste upon the job site.......

Chertoff should be chained somewhere so decent folk could go and poke him with sticks. His nitwit comments would just be pathetic if he wasn’t in a position where he can do so much damage. He really shouln’t be allowed out without supervision; much less allowed to hold any position involving the slightest responsibility. He’s not even smart enough to be a carnival geek.

The Alaska Highway, all 1523 miles of it, was built in one year (1942-43) over some of the worst possible artic terrain in brutally cold winter and mosquito-infested summer. It was done with small trucks and primitive bulldozers.

Now we can’t build a lousy fence in a subtropical climate with modern technology.

Wasn’t this a great country?

Umm...I feel like I feel down the rabbit hole. Have to shake my head at “Chertoff” and “defends border fence” in the same headline.

he’s right that it’s better for the environment...I just wish I trusted the work being done.

This is all getting a little confusing and I suspect it is because there are those who want it to be so. There was another thread about the Brownsville mayor filing a suit because of a 16 ft. fence that was to be built there. This article makes reference to so much fence and then the rest are vehicle barriers.

That is not my understanding of the law. The law as I understand it provides for double fence with a patrol road in between and states the geographical locations and ports of entry in no uncertain terms. So what gives?

I can’t believe this is not form Scrappleface.

Jerkhoff is unbelievable—on all levels.

This clown needs to go. First Ridge, then Jerkhoff.

Can’t we do better, Mr. President?
