A boy of 12 suffers from so many allergies that he is able to eat only five foods.
Tyler Savage is violently ill every time he is given dishes containing dairy products or wheat, gluten, eggs, lactose and soya.
The sole foods he is allowed are chicken, carrots, grapes, potatoes and apples.
To help him survive, minerals and vitamins are pumped directly into his stomach through a tube.
Tyler started to fall ill at the age of six when even a morsel of food would leave him writhing in agony from sickness and diarrhoea.
His mother, Lynne Savage, 43, said: "We asked for help but kept being told that he was suffering from a stomach infection. As a result his weight dropped drastically.
"He ran out of energy really quickly and couldn't do the things other children were doing. He just seemed to be getting worse and worse.
"It's been a real struggle. We didn't know what to do."
Tyler - from Earls Colne in Essex - was seen by a paediatrician at Chelmsford's St John's Hospital and had his appendix removed in December 2005.
Although the operation was a success it failed to solve the problem and he was referred to Colchester General Hospital for further tests and treatment.
That shed no light on the mystery illness and in April last year Tyler was sent to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London for checks on his stomach and bowels.
The tests led to a diagnosis of eosinophilic enteropathy, a rare and condition in which the intestines produce too many white blood cells.
These act as a miniature immune system and attack food passing through the gut to the stomach.
The condition saw Tyler's weight drop to barely three stone.
"He was becoming malnourished," said Mrs Savage, a married mother-of-three and housewife.
At first, Tyler was fitted with a nose tube to help get food direct to his stomach, bypassing the rogue blood cells in his gut.
Then, this May, he had a tube inserted into his stomach allowing him to be fed for up to ten hours through the night.
"Even though this will continue for the foreseeable future, it is a godsend," said Mrs Savage.
"Last year he was only at school for about ten days, but in the first two weeks of this new term he's only missed one day.
"We've got a long way to go but at least we're now getting some answers."
In the day, Tyler, whose father, David, 60, is an engineer, can eat the five foods he is not allergic to.
Didn’t do much on us for tapeworm, but crushed raw pumpkin seed did.

More re: John Graziano - there is a lot of money at stake here. Hulk Hogan's money. That's all well and good but consider it's a Pinellas Guardianship Judge who will be a decider (and we know who one of them is GREER) and the death lawyers are already skulking about like moths to a flame.
John Graziano - I recommend creating google alerts on John Graziano to see how judicious Pinellas County is or if the death lawyers worm their way to the family - mom and dad are split up.
If a "loved one" needs money, the skulkers may not be far behind to brainwash same.
Question becomes: What guardianship judge will get this and will John Graziano live? He responds with his eyes but the doctors are downplaying same.
Look out for the death lawyer skulk dance.
It goes like this: Shimmy to the left, shimmy to the left.
I guess I should fix it. Regarding Dylan upthread today at #140, I talked about a twenty six years, and that was our own son, not Dylan who was snuffed quickly, in a scarce few years.

When I think of Felos doing the shimmy I think of the slink, one where a guy can slither under a door instead of opening it.
The child must not be allergic to starch if he can have potatoes. Maybe it’s not a big serving either.
FEEDING TUBES ARE NOT TORTURE DEVICES.
We should be careful not to demonize feeding tubes. They are not horrid torture devices. Sometimes, premature babies and children need them. There are portable feeding tubes like back packs called G-tubes. They are not scary looking and should not be looked upon as objects of torture. They save lives, sustain life and many times after therapy, can be tossed aside.
For anyone interested, here's Terri's Foundation w/other links that may prove helpful.

Judge George Greer forbade swallowing tests for TERRI SCHINDLER SCHIAVO even though she could swallow her saliva. He said,"The law of the case is that she will die."
Chilling crime, wasn't it? A judge citing laws he's been paid to follow instead of FOLLOWING the Florida Statutes making what they did to Terri a FELONY MURDER.

I can't get started on the Bush dynasty but did you hear that the prez says everyone prays to the same god?
(like during beheadings, saying allah, akbar or crashing planes into buildings.)
Who is advising him? He says unbelievable, meritless stuff. I only back him on the Supremes he picked, schips veto and am against a cut and run. Outside of that, what's a born again saying praying to allah or to buddha is the same as praying to Jesus Christ?
No way.
Free Ramos and Campion instead of the killer of two innocent American girls.
The man is unbelievable but then again, so is Hilary. It's another day in Amerika.
NO MORE DYNASTIES, PLEASE.
So, ya think Fred Thompson knows more about Terri now? If he doesn’t, tomorrow may be his swan song. Even little kids knew about Terri. The entire world knew about Terri. Matthews may not ask a Terri question tonight but if he does, the suspense is killing me...let us know. I will not be watching tonight.
The debate will air at 4 PM EST today on CNBC, and will then be rebroadcast at 9 PM EST on MSNBC. Be sure to tell your friends to tune in and watch.
Thank you for your continued support. (fv: it depends on diligence and work ethic imo).
Poor kid. I always felt sorry for kids who were allergic to everything.
Seriesly decent web site.
Those who missed Terri's fight, they can read about John G. who is in much worse shape than Terri was. He can only blink and is nursing home bound in the near future.
Hulk Hogan's real name is Terry. What a coincidence. The Hogan's are doing all possible to help John and his immediate family. The girlfriend is hardly ever mentioned.

Maybe the Hulkster will become a fighter against euthanasia. Time will tell but wouldn't that be noble?
PINELLAS COUNTY -- It's a lot of paperwork that comes down to just two things. One is the medical condition of John Graziano. Two is who will be his legal guardian.
According to court-appointed doctors and nurses, Graziano's prognosis is not good. The reports say the Marine is in a "comatose state" and is "totally incapacitated."
The report also details the injuries he sustained from the car crash he was in with Nick Bollea, the son of wrestling star Hulk Hogan, this past August in Clearwater. The report says the crash broke Graziano's skull at the base.

You can be ethical and moral without religion. You can give money to the poor not because Jesus did it, but because it will keep them from starving, and because it's a good thing to do. Don't avoid killing bugs and animals because you think karma will have you reincarnated as a spider that gets stomped on by a four-year-old's heelies. Let it live because it's cruel and a waste of time to kill for no reason. What if a fly has been buzzing around your ears for a good while and you can't concentrate on finishing a good Diamondback column? Swat it, because it's worth it. It's better to make your decisions based on practicality, rationality and reason.
The decisions get bigger and bigger, from stealing Tater Tots at The Diner to abortion. Stem-cell research. Terri Schiavo. The only decision that matters is the godless one. Politics is about keeping people alive, happy and not killing each other. You may have a relationship with God, but you also have a relationship with humanity. Politics is based on humanity, the here and now.
So I say to Barack Obama, who spent close to a minute (for a 10-second question) relating God to humanity to political goodness and stumbling the whole way, that yes, we have lost a "sense of empathy towards each other." We have been "governed in fear and division." That is all you can expect when God is strung so tightly together with American politics.

This is one of many articles regurgitating the same refrain this morning.
Thompson has now shown that with his folksy style and low-key approach to campaigning, "he pulls off the reluctant candidate role a bit too well," said Corey Cook, an assistant professor of political science at the University of San Francisco.
Cook said Thompson is "either getting bad advice, is not focused on the race, or is assuming his natural charisma will carry him through."
Cook noted that among the recent speed bumps have been some headline-grabbing misstatements, such as calling Russia "the Soviet Union" - which hasn't existed since 1991 - and some shocking unfamiliarity with issues such as the ethics debate that consumed the country surrounding the death of Terry Schiavo.
"Apparently he didn't watch the 'Law & Order' episode - that he was in - about that case," Cook said.

We may wonder at an institution that places high value on Jack the Dripper and the ACLU. Oh well, "Don't phase me, bro."
We find one more excellent example of the simple minded reality of projection by pseudo-intellectuals gripping the far left. i.e. haters call people they hate haters. This is their latest myopic nastiness.
Also recently at UF, Bobby Schindler, whose only claim to fame is that he is the brother of the late Terri Schiavo, has presumed to dictate who may speak on campus. Schindler, who now earns his living from denying that his sister was brain-dead in spite of all credible medical evidence, launched an unsuccessful petition drive to stop Dr. Jack Kevorkian from speaking to students about assisted suicide. No one apparently wanted to hear Schindler, so he felt compelled to try to gag someone whose opinions they valued.
The good news is that a small cadre of Floridians most notably the American Civil Liberties Union is fighting to protect freedom of speech and save us from ourselves. Recently, the ACLU's Broward Chapter got Fort Lauderdale's "sticks and stones" ordinance struck down, which was enacted before the Organization of American States meeting in June 2005. The ACLU claimed that it violated protestors' free speech by "limiting the number of demonstrators, restricting the objects and signs they could carry, and creating a mile-wide security perimeter or free speech zone to prevent them from protesting near the OAS meeting."
Freedom of Speech has taken a beating
