I spent some time at “taverns” in my youth. Some inside, some outside sleeping in the car, waiting to be driven home by a drunk driver.
That was back in the good old days, when driving drunk was socially acceptable, and before seatbelts were routinely used.
I learned to shoot pool in a tavern.
My uncle was a shark, and I can still make amazing, long straight shots...I can generally spot which inebriated person in any given group is most likely to start a violent physical fight...and which one will win it.

Such skills are not “good things” to expose young children too, IMNSHO.
Get a baby sitter,if you want an adult night out at a tavern.
I really don’t want to see your child at a “tavern” specializing in adult oriented entertainment and alcoholic beverages.
Why don’t you just buy a case, turn on the radio, order a pizza, and stay home?
At least you wouldn’t be screwing with all the people who just wanted a break away from the children.....

How is this different than eating in a restaurant?

Oh...yeah..I forgot. the food is better. We opted to sit on the patio.

Its not like we were playing drinking games.

I’m sorry if you had a bad childhood.
