Of course it was no accident. The ship was suppose to have been sunk and blamed on the Egyptians. Would have been too if other US ships would have taken longer to arrive. It wasn't solely an Israeli plan though, Johnson was fully behind it. Yes, when destroying the Egyptian air force on the first day the Israelis deliberately spared a few so they could be false flagged and attack the USS Liberty on Lyndon Johnsons orders. Everyone would believe that.
