In a perfect world, where white is white and black is black, your response in #213 would make sense.

But we are continually faced with varying shades of gray. No man/woman is perfect, including and especially those running for political office. They all carry baggage. They all hold political views which differ somewhat from my own.

I’m sure you’ve heard this: “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke)

The primary process is the time for Christians and pro-lifers to step forward and vote their principles. And we pray that the right man/woman wins. But in the general election, if it comes down to Giuliani vs. Clinton, “good men” (ala Burke) have got to vote for Giuliani because the results of staying home might be devastating to this nation AND the world.

Your premise is based on the false assumption there is a difference between Guiliani and Clinton. I suggest you look at the list at post #16. Voting for Guiliani is a vote for many of the issues Clinton supports or opposes.

It's not a perfect world but right is still right and wrong is still wrong, there is no gray area there.

Have never felt inspired by that to do something that went against my principles and vote for the "lesser evil". Edmund Burke probably assumed that good men would be prone to do good things when they act.
It seems that people want to sacrifice their values as if it's expected nowdays. We need to start to reject that mindset and demand the type of candidates that this country deserves.
