U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan are being monitored by Iran using satellites and other technology and are well within range of Iranian missiles, a top Iranian military official said.
"The Americans should realize that the 200,000 troops they have deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan are in Irans firing range, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, an advisor to Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in remarks published by Iranian newspapers Monday.
Speaking on the 27th anniversary of the beginning of the Iran-Iraq War, Safavi, the former head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards, said Iran was now in a strong position to defend itself.
"Iran has now a strong intelligence system and missiles. We are closely watching the foreigners' moves in neighboring countries by highly advanced satellite technology and advanced radars. If they enter our airspace or our territorial waters, they will get a fair response," the Iran Daily quoted Safavi as saying.

True Ya’ll, but we don’t want him (AmdinaNUT) taking our Miliatary down with him (and his forces):
One more reason to plan (WELL) and to take down this nut sooner rather than later!
Also I would be setting up “patriot missile” sights all over IRAQ/Afghani if I were president Bush..
This is one more strategy IRAN is trying in their war against us.
Note to Iranian General: Your entire country is within our firing range.
Well, yeah, the spec ops guy who is behind you with the knife is, technically, within firing range.
That’s damn funny.
What an assnine thing to say while their President is here visiting...I am sick to death of political correctness. I honestly think if Rudy were President he would have never given Abisymalsnutjob a visa to come here IN THE FIRST PLACE.
In the second place, it’s way past time we shut down every Mosque, school and endorsed group of Muslims in America. Shut them all down I’d say and kick them out. We’re at war! Start acting like it...
It’s already been leaked that the US “approved” the attack on the Syrian site after obtaining needed evidence. The rhetoric from the Supreme Leader’s nut job shows they don’t want this engagement.
That’s my sense no matter what bluster comes from the Persian general. He takes orders from the “Supreme Leader” as well. So he’s only permitted to flap.
Wish I knew what the best thing is to do. How close Iran is right now I don’t know. I wonder if we do.
If the UN is here, people will be allowed to come to visit. Can’t get around it.
We are not a war with every Muslim. We are at war with CAIR, their sympathizers, funders and related appeasers.
Agree.
My own feeling is that we are taking a “Patton” tactic - and waiting for the Iranians to shuffle the cards, when we will draw the pistol and gun’em down in self-defence.
I really just don’t see W letting a democrat take the white house with the Crazy Dinner Jacket still rattling the cage.
For one thing, the NK nukes don’t work - their test shot was a dud. I think they had a fire sale and sold the parts to Syria and Iran kind of like a junker car - “Here we can’t get it to run, but maybe your mechanic can.”
At the same time they got some financial support from the US in return for shutting down the program. Not a bad return on their investment for something they couldn't get to work.
Iran intends to smuggle nukes to enemy territory. Missiles are 100% detectable in flight. Knowing the missile came from Iran would invite massive nuclear retaliation from the West. On the other hand, terrorist nukes provide some measure of deniablity.
Reminds me of a Saturday Night Live skit about 20 years ago. Two aliens with 18th century technology manage somehow to commandeer a spaceship of some other alien race and land it on earth.
They demand the govts of Earth to surrender or they will ‘feel the awesome power of our muskets’ that fire ‘up to one ball per minute.’ They are informed that our guns fire ‘many balls per minute,’ which facilitates a rapid exit by the aliens.
I’m reminded of that skit whenever Iran threatens to use their military technology against ours.
