The new target represents an increase in the number and pace of Iraqi refugees entering the country and means that 17 percent of the 70,000 refugees expected to be admitted next year will come from Iraq, officials from the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security told reporters...

I fail to understand the logic of this. We, the US, are expending our treasure and our youth to ‘give’ these people a democracy...a nation free from oppression, while at the same time we are telling them, “If you still don’t like it in Iraq, the US will make it easy for you to come here.”
I thought our troops were there to get the area safe in order for the Iraqis to stay in Iraq. Silly me
We’re importing them here so we don’t have to fight them over there.
ROFLOLOL
Number of Christians in Iraq prior to the invasion was put at about 3% of a population of 25 million.
If you take in 2 - 3 million Iraqis, it’s mathmatically impossible for ‘most of them’ to be Arab Christians.
This is disgusting sending our youth to Iraq to fight their wars. Is this some kind of exchange program? If it is, then we are the losers.
Why not just let everyone come here and call it a day.
So, you'd leave those Iraqis, Muslim and Christian ,who have been interpeters and otherwise worked for us , to the mercies of the criminal gangs who will remain in place for awhile? Great thinking there .
Yep, I sure would. So you would send our youth to fight and die for the ones who refuse to fight for their own country. They are running like cowards to the US.
By the way, would you run from your country?
Bump

Your country was built by people who ‘ran from their country’, as you put it. I’d never thought to consider them cowards, but perhaps you do.
Link, please.
Good God, did you bother to read anything I wrote or are you confused by the big words I used? What do you have for brains, concrete?
Re read what I posted, think back to 1975, provided you can count that far back, and then try to use reason. If you’re unable to do so, then , we have no further need for discussion , poltroon .
This is what you wrote:

Big words????????????Hahahahahahahhahhahahahahahaha
We have nothing more to discuss. Don't post to me again.
“Link, please.”
You’re asking for a link for the claim that the USA was built by immigrants? Er, ok.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_colonization_of_the_Americas
“Many immigrants to the American colonies came for economic reasons. Inspired by the Spanish riches from colonies founded upon the conquest of the Aztecs, Incas, and other large Native American populations in the sixteenth century, the first Englishmen to settle in America hoped for some of the same rich discoveries when they first established a settlement in Jamestown, Virginia.”
Er, no I don't think so. Nice try at changing the subject. However, I will have to compliment you on looking up how America was settled.
Most early colonist consisted primarily of church disidents, fishermen, farmers, ship builders and businessmen trying to establish a new independent life. They came for various reasons none of which had to do with fleeing their countries due to war.
All you need to do is google Iraq, refugee. Better yet, read the arfticle as the US intends to accept 12,000 Iraq refugees. The article states that many of the refugees have worked for the US government as interpreters. I doubt 12,000 have worked for our government.
I am going to put you to a website showing that this is a UN initiative. Millions have fled or run from Iraq. Most have resettled in Syria, Jordan and other middle eastern countries. Yes, the articles use the word fled. These are not early American settlers or even close to them.

escerpt.....The UN estimates that over 4 million Iraqis have been displaced by violence in their country, the vast majority of which have fled since 2003. Over 2.2 million have vacated their homes for safer areas within Iraq, 1.5 million are now living in Syria, and over 1 million refugees inhabit Jordan, Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, Yemen, and Turkey. Most Iraqis are determined to be resettled to Europe or North America, and few consider return to Iraq an option. .....excerpt.......Although they have received additional funds for this crisis in 2007, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees cant provide adequate protection and assistance to Iraqis.....
