The student is the one responsible for getting the information to the committee.

One of my concerns is where do you draw the line? If you give a little to one person who does not abide by the rules, you gotta do the same to the next person.

FWIW - We are considering giving the student half of the scholarship.

That was my next thought. Are you talking about large scholarships? You could set up an additional ER fund and tell her that she didn't get her application in on time so she doesn't qualify for the regular scholarships but that she can apply for a 100 dollars or so for ER help. You could even make it a loan. That way they don't get rewarded for breaking the rules but the kid still gets some help. JAT.
