It’s not just this statement that would lead you to that conclusion. I believe Ron Paul has said (roughly) that while he doesn’t believe the federal government was behind 9/11, the federal government is not above exploiting it to gain power.

Do you think Ron Paul would have responded to Pearl Harbor? After all, at that time Hawaii was not an American State. It was a territory where we had ships based. If we weren’t there then the Japanese wouldn’t have been mad with us. So fast forward today. Should we give up all territories worldwide and withdraw? Are all American bases to be no longer defended since they might be provocative to someone?
