God bless them all. What an amazing and uplifting story!
The nice thing is, in later years, she’ll tell her own kids what she did with her hair “one Hallowe’en,” and her children will be awed to realize their grandma actually ALLOWED it! What an awesome grandma! (Future tense, of course!)
It's a Dell Latitude D630. Small and pretty light, but nice when hooked up with a second monitor.
I had asked for a Dell Vostro but, with a 17" screen that may have been a little large for hauling around.
I've gotten almost everything working on the new one, an accomplishment in itself!
I felt like I was in a sort of social isolation without my FRiends!
However, my wife says I got way more done around the house...I'll have to be on the alert for possible sabotage in the future!
I made her some crispy duck with cherry sauce, as an illustration of why my computer is so essential to day-to-day living around here!
Note: This isn't actually a picture of my dish, but it was pretty close.
Oh. Um...it’s a little early for din-din. I’m still trying to decide if I want to wake up or not.
Good to have to back, for sure!
Anoreth (of yon fuschia hair) uses a Dell laptop. It’s about five years old now.
I’ll make sure we have pictures saved in the album, to embarass her if she ever becomes conventional :-). If she joins the military in a couple of years, that will be it for strange hair colors.
LOL!
She’ll remember this time in her life with fondness, I’m sure. I would!
I hope so. I keep pointing out what an easy time she’s having in life, in spite of the miseries of washing dishes and putting her clean laundry away :-).
LOL!
My daughter was so SURE, when I told her to wipe the stove top when she did dishes, that I was just doing it to “punish” her. She decided then and there she would not do it in her own home.
That lasted six months. Then she admitted to me that she had made SOOOO much work for herself, just to “spite” me! LOL! We got a pretty good laugh out of it.
Of course, it took her 20 years to tell me.... ;o]
“Adult” children will do the dumbest things to spite their parents ... all in their imagination, of course, because you couldn’t care less.
I’m probably letting Anoreth do her hair in shocking shades because my mother wouldn’t let me!
This gal was so rebellioius, it’s not funny. She still has a stubborn streak, and at times, it borders on the stupid. But (thankfully) the lessons I tried to teach her when she was younger were learned, one way or the other.
She turned out pretty darn good, in spite of her attempts to sabotage herself!
If Anoreth survives a tour in Iraq, I’m sure she’ll be in great shape for the rest of her life. She has a lot of firmness!
Time to get lunch for the byos, already. My campers were supposed to be back by now. They probably ended up having to clean everything up after the others left.
When Igor and I volunteered for camp hosting with the National Forest Service, we cleaned a lot of camps. Very few people carried out their debris.
Thankfully, the forest service kept us supplied with green garbage bags and spades.
Kudos to DP and the boys for being responsible campers!
Or, it’s possible that they decided to stop for lunch on the way home.
That works too!
Whenever we came down to town, we ALWAYS had some fast food!
(Of course, I learned how to roast a turkey in a barbecue pit. It was so moist and tender, it fell off the bones.)
1,776! You’re such a patriot :-).
They were planning to be home in time to go to Mass at 1:00 p.m., but I don’t think that’s going to work, unless they arrive in the next few minutes. We can all go at 5:00.
LOL!
I was going to go this morning, but woke up with some pretty bad nausea. I’ll go back to bed later on, for sure.
I SO wanted to wear my Hallowe’en socks... :o[
Wear them next Sunday.
When I was at Wal-mart the other day, the staff were putting boxes of Christmas items on the top shelves above the Hallowe’en stock. Unreal.
They don’t waste any time, do they?
With luck, I can still find some Hallowe’en socks on sale on Friday, and get them for next year.
I hope I can find at least one pair of Thanksgiving socks...
