And presumably Maria knew this was the Star Simpson of dingbat fame. OF course if the Star had some common courtesy she would have replied to Maria that this was simply a project she'd done at school lighting some led's in a pattern of a Star because she was a Star. Nope, can't do that.

Reports vary on whether she replied. According to a WBZ-TV report, she did in fact respond:

A Massachusetts Port Authority staffer manning an information booth in the terminal became suspicious when Simpson -- wearing the device -- approached to ask about an incoming flight, [State Police Maj. Scott] Pare said. She did not respond when the employee asked her about the device she was wearing, so the employee repeated the question, police said.

Simpson then said the device was artwork and left the counter and walked around the terminal area, causing some employees to leave the building in fear, police said.

Simpson then walked outside, and the information booth attendant notified a nearby trooper.

So when my grandaughters are playing with playdough in their LED sneakers, they are actually doing art?

I'll be danged!

I will say this, if she explained her "artwork" to the employees in a decent manner that would certainly mitigate my opinion of her.

But seeing as "employees left the building in fear", I think I'll wait before I jump on the Star's bandwagon.
