Ann Coulter: Is there a trial lawyer in the House?
JewishWorldReview.com ^ | Sept. 19, 2007 | Ann Coulter

The only "crisis" in health care in this country is that doctors are paid too little. (Also they've come up with nothing to help that poor Dennis Kucinich.)

But the Democratic Party treats doctors like they're Klan members. They wail about how much doctors are paid and celebrate the trial lawyers who do absolutely nothing to make society better, but swoop in and steal from the most valuable members of society.

For the life of me I can’t understand how anyone connected with the medical community could even think about embracing Hillarycare.

To defend themselves from parasites like Edwards, doctors now pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical malpractice insurance every year.

Yet when the insurance industry succeeds in placing caps on medical malpractice in a given state, for some reason the rates for the insurance never seem to go down...(thats a true fact, by the way).

She [Coulter's college roommate] makes $380 for an emergency appendectomy, or one-ten-thousandth of what John Edwards made suing doctors like her, and one-fourth of what John Edwards' hairdresser makes for a single shag cut.

That puts things into perspective.

Sorry Ann, can’t get with you on this. I have personal knowledge of doctors with take home wages running from the low of 20k/month to a high of 60k/month. That is after payroll taxes and after their outrageous insurance costs.

I may have to see a doctor about this. I should probably get on the waiting list now in case Hillary gets elected.

Ann: No need for waiting list. I'm available 24/7 and for you, there is no charge for physical exams!

I'm going to guess Cosmetic Surgery. A lot of that is paid out of pocket, so good for them!!

FYI there are now more first year law student seats than there are applicants.

ANYONE with a four year degree can attend an accredited law school SOMEWHERE.

In little over 25 years, law school went from difficult to ridiculously easy to enter.

Law schools are now even less expensive due to the fact that most law books references are online. It is a high profit opperation.

If we are to restructure the system by which we pay doctors to match Europe, which seems prudent as well as inevitable, we must also finance education as Europeans do, by using state dollars to finance the full or majority cost of higher education, including professional school."

Where do these idiots come from with the idea that we should model ourselves after Europe or Canada? Europe is dying and we will see some very painful death throes in the near future. Canadians come to the US for treatment for gosh' sake! If these jerks want to live under a Swedish system, or a Canadian system, then go live in Sweden or Canada!

We have the greatest medical system in the world - the evidence of that is that any foreigner who can afford it comes here for treatment. King Hussein of Jordan? He didn't go to Cairo or Paris or London or even stay home in Amman - he went to the Mayo Clinic. The greatest system in the world and they want to tear it down. Man I am sick of this sh*t!

Good for them anyway! As I don't know how to diagnose much of anything, and can't perform surgery, I'm kinda glad to have them around.

And if it's a big enough deal, I'm willing to pay them what it takes.

Maybe to stop being constantly intimidated, threatened, insulted and mocked by Democrats? It's not like the Republicans have ever stepped up to defend doctors.

What's going on right now is a campaign of threat. The Hillaryites are letting it be known that docs had better not put up much of a fight. Hillary helped shut down a medical school or two.

There are lots more lawyers and screamers, pouters and whiners, in this country than doctors--they are outnumbered. And is it true that Fred Thompson is anti tort reform? Great.

It's not docs who drive the increase in our medical costs, anyway--it's the cost of maintaining the infrastructure. Hospitalization, support technicians, machines, treatments, procedures--not the hands on contact with the physician.

What an ignorant comment. Texas rates have gone down every year for the past 5 years since reform.

This is a crime? I wonder what their work hours are, including on-call time. I don't think many people would take the time and money to train to become physicians if it were turned into a communist low paying job with killer hours.

I know a few doctors too, and they are hard working honest people (the ones I know any way). Their compensation reflects risk, years of hard work and training, and the fact that they do not have the personal time to even do simple things like mow their own lawn or take care of their own personal business. They have to hire help for a lot of things normal people do for themselves because they are always either working, on-call, or training.

Ambulance chasing lawyers like Edwards on the other hand do no service to mankind. They are leaches. Good honest lawyers who do not chase ambulances are ok since legal protection against the ambulance chaser variety is a service to mankind.
