That is the ugly bit: seldom in life does the Best Man Win. Were that so, even now Pope Albino Luciani John Paul I would be leading the Holy Church.

More often we are left with the second-best. Thompson cannot be elected. Can’t — even tho’ he is the best candidate, in my opinion.

I would be delighted to be proven wrong.

Now, here is an interesting thought experiment. Suppose you eschew Guilani because of his opinions that are unlikely to come up and instead elect Thompson whose solution to pressing issues is bipartisanship, won’t that be the revenge of the RINOS?

Thompson cannot be elected.

Why on earth couldn't he be? Hillary Clinton has the most unfavorable rating of any candidate that has come along in some time.

Are you stating someone espousing Reaganism can't be elected?
