Rule of Law? If you’re askin’ me, the Koran and the Hadith(s?), chock full of unapologetic examples of hypocrisy, inconsistency, deceit, and applauded treachery, represent too great a barrier to Arab democracy.

Something along the lines of Allah’s greatness and power precludes Muslims from ever holding him to account, and the Muslims’ faith in Allah precludes them from ever being held to account by we non-Muslims.

” The Arabic word, “Takeyya”, means, “to guard against.” The principle of Al Takeyya conveys the understanding that Muslims are permitted to lie as a preventive measure against anticipated harm to one’s self or fellow Muslims. They can even deny the faith, if they do not mean it in their hearts.” http://www.islamreview.com/articles/masters.shtml

You’re forgetting that the Iraqis invented the Rule of Law (code of Hammurabi).

The way I see it, we are returning the favor.
