Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani has pulled to within three points of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary. A month ago, Romney had a twelve-point edge.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows that Romney is the top choice for 25% of Likely Primary Voters while Giuliani is preferred by 22%. Nineteen percent (19%) prefer the newest entrant in the race, former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson while 12% favor Arizona Senator John McCain. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is at 4% in the poll while four other candidates split 5% of the national vote. Thirteen percent (13%) of voters are not sure how they will vote.
Thirty-nine percent (39%) of New Hampshires Republican Primary voters say that Thompson should not have skipped a debate in New Hampshire to announce his candidacy on the Tonight Show. Twenty-five percent (25%) say it was a good decision while 35% are not sure.
However, 77% say that Thompsons position on the issues will matter more to New Hampshire voters than his decision to skip the debate.

was he running against a conservative either time?
The Romney and Rudy campaigns aren’t going to take this lying down.
The Romney campaign in S. Carolina was back at smearing Thompson again last week, this time it was an email attacking his morals and questioning his intelligence.
The email was linked to that smear merchant, Warren Tompkins.
But... but... we were assured that the Romney campaign would have nothing to do with those kind of slimy tactics.
Let me guess... the Romney campaign disavows any knowledge of this?
Tompkins denies it. But it is linked to his websites.
I really believed that Bush won S. Carolina fair and square and that there were no dirty push polls done in 2000. Now that I see what this guy (Tompkins) is capable of, I really do believe now that he did do the smear on McCain that McCain claimed.
What a scumbag.

Gee, I thought this wasn’t supposed to happen. I thought that Mr. Thompson had so thoroughly insulted the folks in New Hampshire by skipping the debate of the dwarves that he’d be lucky to poll as an asterisk.
LOL.
Just goes to show the Beatles were right, money can’t buy you love...
Almost nothing. Mitt, the great white business man. If he managed my investments I’d still be in a 2 bedroom house.

Good advice. Which reminds me..
Go Fred!
YOU DARE TEMPT THE MIGHTY PAULINATI!!!!
We shall rain down upon you the curse of a 1000 posts....
Romney will likely take NH. But, I’d love to see Fred at least pass up Rudy into second place. I think after the first debate with Fred, Fred be second in NH. Not bad, not bad at all!!
Do have any more info on that email? I’d like to post a thread on it.
Polls are all nice and fine, but is Fred ever going to have the guts to debate these guys? He seems awfully good at hiding.
He announced he is joining the debates Oct 9th, Oct 14th and the one on Oct. 21st.
This can’t be!! Robert Novak, Dick Morris and George Will have all declared Fred’s campaign DOA. Surely three such wise men can’t be mistaken!
I’m not sure what Fred’s next move is, but I expect that there will be a delayed effect to a lot of his support in IA, FL and NH. He did a lot of personal events with a lot of people. Those people need time to go back to their communities and talk about Fred, then the people they talk to need time to check out Fred’s website and watch his speeches, etc. I expect we’ll see where we really stand from his first bus tour in the polls that are released next week.
If you insist on posting such ignorant things, could you at least have your username changed, so it doesn’t contain my former home. I don’t like to see Staten Island sullied.
The only person he “insulted” was the state GOP chairman, who’s a Mittwit, IIRC.
