I hope you're wrong about that too. It would stink to see the good samaritan sued because he shot the wrong dog in what had to be a frantic scene.
Personnally though, I hope the guy who got attacked sticks it to the owners of the dogs that started the problem. If you cannot control them you shouldn't own them.
