She was just awarded an Emmy. Her career is going fine.
She jeopardized everything with her little unprofessional amateurish performance at the ceremony. Sally proved her talent unworthy of honor, and even fellow Hollywood leftists had to flinch at the embarrassing incoherence spewing from their chosen one.
You must be kidding. Hollywood, like she said so many years ago, "really, really like[s her]," and that's why she's won two Oscars and two Emmys. She was already a TV icon from Gidget and The Flying Nun when she first started to be taken seriously in her role as Sybil. The only thing that would reverse her fortunes is if she announced support for the war rather than opposition.

Come on. What we see on the screen is the sausage that looks so appetizing -- we don't see what goes into it. The people running the show behind the scenes know the freak show some well-respected stars truly are. Until recently, there wasn't much reason to figure Owen Wilson was all that different than the rest of us. As flaky as Field seems, she's probably one of the more sane ones.
Think Elaine Stritch is going to be hurting for work after making a fool of herself tonight? Think again.
