That is why this interests so many people. Not just the hype of the personalities involved, not just the drama of the moment, but the very basis of seeing just convictions achieved in the courts against those who commit crimes.
Every case sets precedents. If OJ is guilty, but walks because of some loophole, or a jury that is swayed by other influences of thought (as the last one), whatever - the outcome will be used for reference in future cases. We, who are watching this know the outcome could affect us in many ways.
We want justice to prevail, and although emotions do fly when the topic is so hot and contraversal, that is the real reason for the interest. Justice did not prevail before in the murder trial, and we remember...with resentment, even...and want to see a verdict that suits the crime this man has committed - this time!
