O.J. Simpson has been arrested in Las Vegas and will likely be charged on three counts -- conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery and armed robbery with a deadly weapon, according to CNN.

Most states maintain a bail schedule at police stations. The watch commander usually has the authority to release a prisoner up posting the amount on the schedule... keeps jail overcrowding down. In his case, I suspect the WC decided to leave it to the judge in the morning.

Per the Oprah episode. The Goldman’s (as owners of the book, ‘If I Did It’) will get the whooping sum of .17 per book sold. That is it. Simpson already rec’d an advance in the neighborhood of 600k (that the civil suit cannot touch due to FL laws). So that is why the Goldmans’ went after ownership of the book. They at least wanted to keep that .17 out of his hands.
Don't jump to conclusions. You may have noticed that the plaintiff is getting cold feet; me thinks that the plaintiffs are up to their eyebrows in deals that smell like Alioto's on the wharf!
My fascination is because I don't watch tv or take newspapers, so I'm WAY out of the mainstream media soup line. Fascination with famous people that are otherwise totally unimportant is a curiosity to me. It's fascinating to watch those that watch.

I do believe your right. This will not be a hand picked racist LA jury. And no Judge Ito either.
That is why this interests so many people. Not just the hype of the personalities involved, not just the drama of the moment, but the very basis of seeing just convictions achieved in the courts against those who commit crimes.
Every case sets precedents. If OJ is guilty, but walks because of some loophole, or a jury that is swayed by other influences of thought (as the last one), whatever - the outcome will be used for reference in future cases. We, who are watching this know the outcome could affect us in many ways.
We want justice to prevail, and although emotions do fly when the topic is so hot and contraversal, that is the real reason for the interest. Justice did not prevail before in the murder trial, and we remember...with resentment, even...and want to see a verdict that suits the crime this man has committed - this time!
If, you are not interested, then please, don't bother to read this thread and critize us with your feigned disconcern. Reading what is written here, then posting that you don't care is a conflict we all see and although you are certainly entitled to "not care," and it is your right...obviously you did...because here you are, reading.
No joking in anything I said. I indeed disagreed with this fellow before realizing what his makeup was, and he gave me the death of a thousand cuts. It was a miserable time. He is a Christian missionary. Go figure.

I really don’t like his chances when he faces a jury again, unless he happens to find one that’s as dammed stupid as the one he had for his original murder case, and those have got to be rare.
