Chinese Fighter with Stealth Feature Developed

Body of Russian Sukhoi-27 used, indigenously development which took 10 years

China developed Jian-10B, a first indigenously developed fighter employing stealth technology(see photo below,) and plans to unveil it in public.

According to Chinese media on Sept. 13, it took 10 years to develop Jian-11B, based on Russia-made 'Sukhoi-27' fighter, which China assembles in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, since 1996.

Especially, while 15 square meters of Sukhoi-27' surface can be detected by radars, only 3 square meters of Jian-11B are. Jian-11B's radar can track 20 targets simultaneously, and six of them can be attacked at the same time. In comparison, Sukhoi-27 can attack only two targets simultaneously. Using new materials, it weighs 700 kg less than Sukhoi-27, and is equipped with PL-12 missiles, a improved version of Russia-made R77. Experts are of the opinion that Jian-11B is comparable to F-16 of U.S. in its combat capability, and it is to become a main fighter of Chinese Air Force along with Jian-10 whose development was completed last year. China is currently working on Jian-13, and Jian-14 fighters which will have complete stealth capability, and their development is scheduled to be completed in 2009.

It takes a long time to smuggle engineering drawings all the way to China, huh... One disk drive at a time, no doubt...

Gadzooks! That bizzy bottom of that SU-27 knockoff... even shows up on my gaydar!

If that is the best they can come up with for stealth... , to coin a phrase, "They haven't a chinaman's chance!"

You have such a way... with words, my dear Bender!

Looks strangely similar to the F-16, F-18 series of fighters. But there again, the plans for those fighters was most likely given to the Chinese by Clinton. Ten years Hmmm? that’s just about right.

Ha!

Wouldn’t that be a hoot if it turns out the old fashioned lead based paint really does absorb radar? And it’s outlawed here, or course.

The F-22 will own these Wang Wei piloted chicom birds just as it does the F-16.

The Chinese built the J-11 as the license version of the Russian SU-27.Built over a 100 of them. The J-11B is the next type with more Chinese systems-Clinton has little to do with it.The SU-27 is as old as the F-16 & 18,while being much larger.

About the Chicoms getting US tech, check out the FC-1 & J-10 projects-developed using an F-16 loaned from Pakistan.Companies like Grumman,General Dynamics among others provided technology during the 80s for a variety of upgrades & development of new fighters like the Super-7(which evolved into the FC-1).

The Chinese were given a license to build the SU-27 in the mid-90s.The J-11 is the basic copy. They had a contract for upto 200,but stopped after about a 100 & decided to indegnise & upgrade it with newer technology & Chinese components, while still buying SU-30 MKKs from Russia. The J-11B of which little is known, has more composites in it’s design to reduce weight, redesigned air inlets,Chinese electronics,an indegnious Chinese turbofan to replace the AL-31F.

Nope, the Mig-29 looks very different from the Su-27.It’s much smaller than the SU-27.Another big difference is that the SU-27 family has a distinctive beam section protruding between the engine nacelles.Easy to identify.
