"Sean Salisbury and Mike Golic went so far as to say that this controversy is over nothing, and Belicheat should get off with a small fine if he’s punished at all."

Because it is over nothing and the guys in the know would know that its over nothing and the Commish given such a slap on the wrist knows its much to do about nothing or else BB would have been suspended. You know why most in the NFL are responding the way they are? Because they mind the timber in their own eye, more than the cinders in Belichick’s.

Its pretty well known among those within the league that all home teams often place video cameras on the sideline to record the opposing team's signals. The cameras are placed on the sideline under the guise that they provide extra game tape for the home team's coaches. When road teams attempt to get credentials for their sideline cameramen, the applications are usually rejected.

Don’t waste yout time trying to explain things to the hystericals on this board. No amount of blood or tribute will satisfy their whining and overreactions. Mangina was more than happy to make use of such tape when he was DC of the Pats but he’s going to make sure he screws his old boss in the ass when he’s got his own team. Meanwhile, he’s got a camera on the Pats making sure he’s going to get every piece of information he can.

Goodall went about as far as he dared here and made an example of a premier coach. I don’t think he wants to deal with another of these cases and if the practice of stealing is as bad as some claim then he would be hearing more of these case down the line if he didn’t spike the Pats.

If it was over nothing, Goodell would have done nothing. Levying the maximum fine possible under the current CBA and taking away a first-round draft pick is not a slap on the wrist. (Even though I believe the penalties are ultimately meaningless, they're still fairly large penalties.)

Trying to claim that what Belicheat did is meaningless just because other teams may or may not be doing it is wrong. If everyone in a class cheats on a test, but only one student gets caught, does that automatically make the other students' cheating okay? It does not.
