Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.
This is a developing story so keep checking back here on CBS4.COM for updates

DEARBORN - Houssein Zorkot, a 26-year-old Dearborn resident, was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court on multiple felony charges, including carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent a five-year felony.
Zorkot, a third-year medical student at Wayne State University, was allegedly armed with an AK-47 assault rifle and dressed in black clothing with camouflage paint covering his face when he was arrested Saturday in Hemlock Park.
According to police, Zorkot was observed attempting to leave the park in a black SUV after officers had received reports of a man carrying a rifle in the area. He was placed under arrest and is scheduled to undergo a preliminary examination at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 in 19th District Court.
Less than sixty seconds...
See post #22.
Live here for the no-cable crowd:http://www.local10.com/video/13832869/index.html
Why weird? The rifle has been around for 60 years and is the most widespread weapon in the world.
darn cubicle!
I just saw a blackhawk (with FLIR) searching a wooded area near where the cops have a house surrounded it is on the other side of a canal behind the house.
thanks!
But other than that, it was a real long shot!
;-P
He is at tree top level
Cops are entering the area the Black Hawk was searching
We gotta stick together!!
Just spoke to the MDPD station responsible for this section of the city. The desk officer confirms one male officer is deceased, and their understanding is that it was an AK47. The office apparently never even made it out of the car. The news report of this being related to domestic violence does not seem accurate. He stated this was part of a “sweep” according to his understanding, which went horribly wrong. Feds are involved.
It looks like he got across the canal, the cops are forming up a search line.
(Damned TV station keeps showing the wrong areas)
I read somewhere that both shooters were breathing air. There may be a connection. ;)
just said on local 10 possibly more suspects
Thanks, MSNBC has dropped it.
Are you getting any audio on that feed? I’m only getting video.
Horrible. Prayers to the family.
I have never seen the Dade cops surge like this for a fleeing suspect, and I used to live in the worst parts of dade.
