Is there some rule that an adult can’t be up at 1AM?

I am up at 1 every single night.

I read this statement at a point where I thought I couldn’t weep any more.

I was wrong.

Yeah, it was like a big punch in the gut. I just can’t shake that photo of that beautiful little girl out of my head, and the knowledge that someone could hurt her so horrendously.

I mentioned that there’s no amount of justice available, and someone commented to me that’s what God’s judgement is for. I can only agree and hope that we send him to that judgement as quickly as possible.

Dana Mack found her youngest daughter's body in a garage

God help her. If I found my daughter this way I'd have a hard time going on.

So you believe that simply placing these animals together, behind bars and giving them TV and book deals and all the TLC they could want will someday result in an actual human being, fit for living amongst civilized humans walking out of that hellhole?

Yup. been working great so far.

No, and I hope I never implied that. I personally believe there is no torture harsh enough and a brutal death can’t come quick enough to whatever savage did this.

Yes, absolutely. Judeo-Christian ethic. Thanks for the correction.

My dad is a wonderful man who has been a profound influence on many young men and has had many children not related by blood named after him. He told me once that "Men are the fathers of all children." His reasoning, as explained at the time, went something like this: a woman is the only one who really knows a child is her own biologically; a man (until DNA testing came along!!) always has to take someone else's word for it. In my dad's eyes, that translated into a reality of having to accept all children as your own responsibility, in a loose spiritual sense I think he meant it.

What gets me is that when humans even half-way aspire to a simple Judeo-Christian (there! fixed it!) ethic, so much evil is minimized. Today we don't even blink an eye at a single mom who shacks up with a guy or whose children see a string of temporary informal (unmarried) step-dads over their lives. I'm certain that at all times in all civilizations, that has happened, but it happens LESS in a society that adheres enough to the Judeo-Christian ethic to frown upon shacking-up and whatnot, hence the children of these moms are at less danger of being victims of animal-men.

Of course, I've sure done more than my share of thumbing my nose at many Judeo-Christian values over the years, especially in my ridiculous youth, but as I've gotten older and I hope smarter, I see the consequences and foolishness of it, and the wisdom of the Ten Commandments, the wisdom of avoiding envy, avarice, gluttony, lust, pride, anger, and sloth, and the destructive wickedness of indulging in vengeance (that belongs to God alone). I also see that other religions may restrict promiscuity and such as does Christianity, but those religions lack the "Do Unto Others" basic, the command to forgive others as we ask God to forgive ourselves, and the idea that "Above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony." (Col. 3:14)

So much of what so many people take for granted in Western civilization, a prohibition on slavery being one, are attributable solely to Judeo-Christian ethics. It is so frustrating to see well-meaning agnostics and atheists deny this while enjoying all the good fruits of Judeo-Christian values.

Your daughter is a lucky girl, I have a feeling!

Looks like a simple misunderstanding. She meant that she would be the jurist to never convict you (were you doing the work on your own and not of the state), and that the sickest thing she read was this story, not your comment.

Yes, thank you. Statements that make sense in my head often don’t transfer well. ;op

Latest article I could find:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/091407dnmetnavarro.cd5254a9.html

Primary suspect named in Navarro County girl’s death

I imagine they’re going to get all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed before charging him with the murder, so that there’s no technicality blunder.

Pictures of sweet faces sure bring this kind of stuff home.

I don’t usually cry when I read this kind of stuff.... today I did.

I have three daughters 4—8—10

I would never rest until ultimate justice was served if...

I can’t even type it.

Every cell in my body screams for the death of the creature who committed this horrible crime.

My religion, however, forbids capital punishment unless there is absolutely no other way to safeguard society from a given criminal.

Therefore, since we have a functioning prison system here in Texas, I am obliged to ignore my emotions regarding this case and hope instead that the monster who robbed this child of her innocence and her life receives a sentence of life at hard labor with no possibility of parole.

But don’t think it’s because I don’t want the devil who did this to die. I do. I want him to die a horrible, screaming, drawn-our death.

Sometimes I think Usay and Quday were wasted on the wrong people.

My religion, however, forbids capital punishment ...

Gotta respect your religion. It's good to shun vengeance. To me, it's not vengeance to squash a black widow where kids are present. It's a responsibility. A dirty job but it's got to be done. That's how I see the death penalty.

That’s how I see it too. However, when my feelings and the teachings of the Church conflict, I have to ignore my feelings and trust the Church. I know that God will settle every account in the end. Until then, all we can do is hang on to that hope and try to carry on.

I read or heard somewhere that the most terrifying words a child can hear are, “Meet mommy’s new boyfriend.” I don’t know if this is the case here,

Well it was the case, as we suspected.

Not fast enough to dodge the extradition order that the Mexican consulate is sure to get.

my state has no problem lying to Mexico to get him back, apparently we cross our fingers when we tell them we wont kill them...Mexico buys it every time.

Deputies Arrest Person Of Interest In Girl's Death

The Navarro County Sheriff’s Department arrested Kevin Anders for possession of child pornography.

Anders is the live-in boyfriend of Dana Mack.

Even if the Mexican consulate wants us to extradite Kevin Anders to Mexico for some crime he may have committed while visiting there, it is highly unlikely that our courts would be impressed.

Very well put and very understandable.

But one this one point, our beliefs differ.
