I am getting so much encouragement on FR that I would love to take her out tomorrow. her daddy isn’t so sure, he is set on us trying it here at home for a few weeks first. If she gets sick again in that school she will be out that day. I don’t want to fight with him over the matter so I am doing work with her now at home. Once he sees she will sit & learn he will be fine with it.
I don’t want to hijack the thread, but I’d like to give you some advice from a veteran homeschool dad. Homeschooling really is a lifestyle and must become the most important aspect of your life. It will take up a lot of time and will be difficult at times. If you go into it with a “we’ll try it for a few weeks” perspective, it will be real easy to quit when the going gets tough.
It’s a great thing to do, but it can be trying.
Check out a book called “the Right Choice” by Chris Klicka (www.hslda.org) it might help you out. Also, get involved in a local homeschool network and/or go to a conference.
