I'm reading Lawrence Wright's "The Looming Tower" right now. I was not aware until I started reading this that Osama bin Laden's father built The Grand Mosque in Mecca. Yeah, the big one with the black stone in it. He also built the big mosque in Medina. Interesting thing, that.

The idiot in Venezuala would like nothing more than to help bring America to her knees. And since there is a growing movement in Mexico and Southwestern US who believe as the president of Mexico recently stated, "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico." If there is a "Perfect Day" and all Muslims rise up and attack the infidels in the US, I think Chavez and all the looney Mexicans would join them...why not?

And I'm not even considering what China and Russia would do except maybe supply arms to our adversaries. Who do you think our allies would be...assuming this is after we've abandoned Iraq to Iran?

It will happen here eventually. You can't stop it. You can't mitigate it. All you can do is survive it and mourn it. To think otherwise is to have a God complex.

There are tens of thousands of possible targets and a trillion scenarios. To worry over each one of them is a complete waste of life.

People in law enforcement, the military, local, state and federal government make and have preparedness plans in place for all kinds of scenarios, as do corporations, businesses, etc.

Understanding the threats that face us and constructing preemptive strategies to deal with these threats is not "having a God complex", it's called dealing with reality.

Of course you can't anticipate everything, but when an enemy has already utilized certain terror tactics in the past with success (in their twisted mind), that rather ups the ante that the scenario will be repeated. For example, Al Qaeda attacked the World Trade Center in 1993 and many knew that it remained a target up until it was hit again on 911.

As far as your statements that "it will happen here eventually" and "you can't stop it" - that sounds like:

1. Defeatism

2. Wishful thinking on your part

I believe any teacher who can handle firearms should have one, and also the principal and any staff member who is stable and able. If you can stop an attack even for a few minutes, kids can find safer places (if possible) or escape and wait for the police to come. There sure aren’t any easy answers.

Actually, I do understand it quite well. I can say from first hand experience of having been in several Muslim countries exactly what the "gravity of the situation" is. As for the folks saying that nuking the capitols of certain countries goes... well, at some point it might just come to that. If it does, then don't leave any of those capitols out, in my opinion.

The fact is, there are some damned evil people out there, and they have some pretty evil plans. If they can cause the fall of the United States in some way, either by destruction or capitulation, then they win.

If we walk out of Iraq, that is a WIN for them, they will advertise it as a win. Bullies do that. The crow when anything goes their way.

The very idea that this ISN'T a religious war is ludicrous. It is, IN FACT a Religious War. Not because Americans have made it so, but because the fanatics of Islam have made it so. When they issue edicts about murdering Americans, Europeans and then those so-called "Moderates" in the USA, like CAIR for instance, sit and WHINE about "equal rights", it is a slap in the face to every American out there. And many of you, Snardius would prefer no fight at all. Like Glenn, who would rather keep his head in the sand, you and he ignore the facts about this entire thing.

America wasn't just attacked on 9-11, it was attacked when the USS Cole was hit, when Khobar Towers were hit, when the Marines' barracks were destroyed in 1983. America has been hit over and over and over, and we've turned one cheek, after another. The people who did each and every one of those attacks were Muslim. There is even evidence that the Oklahoma City bombing by Tim McVey and Nichols was somehow even arranged by "Middle Eastern Gentlemen" (And yes, that's a conspiracy theory and no, I don't BELIEVE it without a lot more evidence, but it has been put out by rational sources and it bears examination).

The "Gravity of the situation" is extremely grave. Russia is pressing the US for another "Cold War". China is helping the idiot in Venezuela, North Korea is most likely selling nuclear material to Islamic terrorists. Israel hit Syria the other day at a "missile site" -- and now that site is being called "a very possible NUCLEAR SITE" in Syria.... Yeah, Snardius, I DO understand the gravity of the situation. It is you, and other apologists for Islam that does NOT understand it.
