You need to focus on alternatives. The alternative to Bush was Gore. Do you prefer Al Gore to George Bush? I do not agree with Bush on a number of positions including illegal immigration but on balance he is far preferred to Al Gore. I would argue the same for John Coryn. You may disagree with his stance on this trucking issue but on balance he is far preferrable to any rat who may replace him.

Bush vs Gore or Perry versus everybody or whatever - that's not the problem - of course one would prefer even a Bush or Perry to a Democrat (even if it's hard to tell them apart at times).

The problem is, come election time, we end up with a Bush or a Perry as the GOP candidate, and that means the process is broken.

Our system is so screwed up these days - we end up electing somebody, not because they hold the same beliefs we do, but because we think they will win, even though they may hold radically different beliefs than we do. That's a fundamentally flawed way of thinking (and voting). We'll end up with the same amount of harm as if a Democrat won, it's just that it will take longer to arrive at that point.

Good advice....Sir...

I am considering the alternatives.....the primaries...and I will vote for any conservative that opposes Cornyn...

Rationalization of Republican failures only invite more failures....

Grow up and grow a spine....is my advice to you.

Wrong. The alternatives were Alan Keyes and John McCain. Keyes was considered too wildly conservative by the "Good Old Boys" Texas oil money, and McCain was regarded as a rogue.

Time for BIG MONEY to take a back seat, and let the conservatives get the house back in order.
