Good for the Brits! I’ve been trying to adapt to the metric system here in France for years and years now and it just isn’t user-friendly... Who wants to measure liquids in deci-liters, for heaven’s sake! Get out a good old spoon!
Actually, I think it is user friendly -- much more practical than our quaint ways, once you get used to it.
But since we are ~not~ used to it -- we and the Brits -- I can not imagine why we would like to inconvenience ourselves to conform to the customs of globalist bureaucrats.
When the French, Germans, Russians, and Chinese abandon their silly local languages and adopt English, the de facto language of the world, then I think that we should take a look at going along on this metric thingie.
Not to worry - the conversion factor was soooo easy. (Not)
Tf = (9/5)*Tc+32; Tc = temperature in degrees Celsius, Tf = temperature in degrees Fahrenheit
For example, suppose you have a Fahrenheit temperature of 98.6 degrees and you wanted to convert it into degrees on the Celsius scale. Using the above formula, you would first subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature and get 66.6 as a result. Then you multiply 66.6 by five-ninths and get the converted value of 37 degrees Celsius. EASY HUH?
