And no matter how unpopular the war is, the alternative of surrender is much, much more unpopular.

Okay then. Have the republican candidate run soley on keeping the war going and democrat candidate run soley on withdrawal in 2008 and I would bet all my savings it ain't the republican who wins.

I'm not even advocating some withdrawal soon. All I'm saying is I'm sick of the delusions of some people here who actually pretend the Iraq war isn't hurting the republicans at the polls.

Do you recommend we do things in this country only because they hurt or help “the party”? You’re sounding like a Democrat . . .

Republicans want the war to end, but in victory. They not only care about the soldier, but the Iraqi people who we owe it to to get them back on their feet, the safety and pride of the american public, which we be heightened with a stable iraq, and they care about defeating and demoralizing Al-Qeada, which we are doing everyday.

Democrats and Ron Paul want the war to end in defeat to spite Bush.

Some people can’t stomach a war on terror, but we have to come to terms with the fact that there are many islamist terrorists out there who would give anything, including their lives, to kill americans. The Republicans understand that, the Dems think islamofacists are a fairy tale.
