This type of dog has existed for centuries. It used to be considered the all-American dog breed. It has only gained its current notoriety relatively recently. Why is that?

Progression of the breeder’s intention. They are bred to be violent. Think Michael Vick. You dispute this. I have no idea how you can ignore this. I don’t want your dogs taken away. I want the abberant sub-breeds controlled.

Because people use them for dog fighting. Stopping that would take care of the problem with the breed. People like Michael Vick who kill the dogs with a good temperment and breed the aggressive ones make the breed dangerous.

Adding restrictions on onwership of the breed may help too. Banning ownership to anyone with an IQ under 10 would be a good start.
