It bears little resemblance (the Pit Bull Terrier) to what is being discussed here.
I believe that is what is being discussed here, unless you're referring to what is known as a "bully-style" pit bull which seems to be a hybrid of pit bull, American Bulldog, and possibly Bullmastiff dogs.
