Just a guess, of course, but perhaps the good doctor doesn't want to starve old people? In years past, voters elected socialists who made commitments to retirees that will have to be honored, if they paid into the system.

Has Ron Paul ever introduced anything? I can honesty say that prior to him showing up at the debates this year, I had never really heard much about him. For a guy who claims to have so many issues he wants to handle, he sure hasn’t done much about them during his time in the House.
