No, I have nothing really. I was never able to convince a girl to marry me. Women are shallow when it comes to money. If you don’t have the nice car and the impressive clothes and a fancy vacation every summer, they think less of you.

Your comment about what the richest person had 40 years ago is meaningless. The bar is raised every year. If you don’t keep up, you get left out. Life is a competition. You compete with what IS today. Not with what WAS yesterday. The poor are merely the ones that are left out or left behind. Comparing the poor of today with the poor of 40 years ago to prove to a poor person he is not poor, is a stupid meaningless waste of time and quite frankly, insulting to poor people.

Lots of people were dirt poor when they married. I know many. Neither bride or groom had nice clothes, cars or anything else.

Your quality of life isn’t based on how well or badly your neighbors do. If you think so, I suggest you go somewhere that is truly poor, where they don’t know when or where the next meal is coming so you can appreciate what you do have. And if you are bent on basing your quality of life verses everyone else then the simple fact is you are very likely much, much better off than at least 3/4 of the planet’s people.

It all depends on the type of woman you’re looking for. Yes, many women are obsessed with material possessions. Where did you meet these women who wouldn’t give you the time of day? Did you take your free time and maybe check out some local churches? There’s a lot more women then men at church! How about volunteering in the community? I met my wife when I volunteered to work as a sound technician for a theater group on an Army Base in Germany.

You should also examine your attitude. Try just being friends with a few ladies. Don’t try to take it any further! After awhile ask them for advice. They might even know the right lady for you.

Look; there’s plenty of creeps out there who don’t have two nickles to rub together who have no problem getting women. I’m not just talking about sex, I’m talking about long term relationships. You own a home and three vehicles. That’s more than a lot of other guys have.

You’ve got a lot going for you. Focus on that!

Life is not a competition. Once you learn to be happy with what we have than to be angry about what others have you can start being happy. Since you (and I) will never be as rich as Bill Gates we will never have more than everyone else. If you have enough to be comfortable and take care of your needs and wants (not those that your neighbors are pursuing) then you can spend the rest of your time doing what makes YOU happy, rather than trying to impress others. That is the path to happiness - IMHO

Poor and lower class are not really synomymous. Your definition of ‘poor’ is the general lower class. The bar for lower class is indeed raised every year. However, poor generally means struggling to even live. A poor person would not have cable television, cell phone, and eat 3 meals a day. A lower class person (in America) could.
