I note that in this case the government has forcibly seized at least $4,000 from this man, not including his legal fees which will probably amount to at least another $1,000 or more. And for what? He might have been charged with public intoxication, but he certainly wasn’t “driving under the influence.”

Since when the hell does “driving” mean lying on a truck vehicle sleeping?

In Florida, there are DUI convictions from operating motor boats and motorless bicycles. You receive exact same penalties as if operating an automobile.

Don't forget, his insurance company will benefit as well.

Don’t worry your pretty little head.

MADD is shaking the politicians’ marionette strings and have done so for some time. A ridiculous, arbitrary .08 standard is stumped for because it sounds “stricter” than .10.

Also, the DUI business is big business for local gummint types nowadays. Why scrape by on $5 parking fines when you can set up a 4th Amendment-trashing roadblock and catch a few $5,000 jackpots?

The weekend “classes” are a joke - more contractors soaking up more taxpayer dollars to get everyone in a room and - SURPRISE! - agree that drunken driving is bad and they won’t do it any more.

For the record I have never been arrested for or even stopped for DUI.

He was parked on private property! That alone should have told the cop to back off.

You see , you have to understand NJ. Local districts in NJ are all about MAKING MONEY. These half assed towns here in NJ will ticket you for breathing. These towns live off of bullsh*t like this. SOme of these small town cops make UNREAL $$$$. My local little corrupt town here has about 100 full time cops ( the place is like 2 square miles ..NOTHING happens here ) There are a ton of cops here in this town that make $100,000 and above to do nothing. In order to PAY for all that fat they give out tickets and arrest anyone they can. That’s all this is about.
