He probably admitted driving there and realized he needed to sleep it off a bit.

I’m no fan of drunks but it seems the cop could have just called the guy a cab. In the old days in small town, small government America that’s probably what would have happened.

If he had continued to drive home drunk odds are he would have made it without being arrested--while endangering countless others en route.

Seat belt laws are the same.

If the engine is running and you don't have your seat belt buckled, you are in violation.

So buckle up before you start the car. /s
