The Boston Globe has a fawning Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous-ish profile of Fox News Channel’s Geraldo Rivera. In between musing about his favorite pair of soft Uggs (”I’ve worn these in Tora Bora and Somalia,” he says, admiring the suede slip-ons with the sheepskin lining. “They’re so comfortable. I love them.”), his “36-foot Hinckley powerboat,” and his massive estates (including “Seagate, the spectacular, 10-bedroom estate he bought several years ago with his fourth wife” and another “Kennedy-esque compound” with his current wife), he spews this:
Rivera, who as a fledgling lawyer in the ’70s counseled the Puerto Rican nationalist group the Young Lords, says he can’t stomach the politicians and pundits who are stoking “anti-immigrant hysteria,” and his antipathy extends to some of his colleagues at Fox.
“Michelle Malkin is the most vile, hateful commentator I’ve ever met in my life,” he says. “She actually believes that neighbors should start snitching out neighbors, and we should be deporting people.
“It’s good she’s in D.C. and I’m in New York,” Rivera sneers. “I’d spit on her if I saw her.”
If Fox thought it would boost ratings, they'd give a talk show to the Ayatollah or to Hugo Chavez. They know very well that the keeper of "Al Capone's Vault" has never been a thoughtful commentator on anything. Just like Imus or Stern, Rivera appeals to the meatheads out there. They spend money on sponsors' products just like anybody else and Fox does not want to give up that segment of the marketplace and lose the ad revenue. It's the same reason Fox spotlights a clown like O'Reilly. He brings in viewers and that pleases the sponsors.
If he spits on Michelle, she would save the saliva and have tests made on it and get that idiot on a drug charge.
It’s been said many times already, but I’d like to add my 2 cents: Geraldo is a vile punk.
I hope Michelle uses his words against him, and I hope the clueless O’reilly sees what he said and has the guts to call him on it. The first will probably happen, the second probably won’t.
He may or may not have changed his name to “Gerry Rivers” at some early point in his career. Kurt Vonnegut, Rivera’s former father-in-law, always insisted that Geraldo went by the name “Jerry Rivers” in the early 70’s and referred to him as such disparagingly to his dying day.
Snopes.com “debunks” the whole “Jerry Rivers” story, but Snopes is about as definitive and reliable as Wikipedia. It’s good for hit and run hyper-linking, but it’s not anything any serious person would hang his hat on. I’ve seen plenty of patently false assertions presented as fact on Snopes, almost always in the political realm (and always to the benefit of the left).
Bottom line: I have no idea if it’s true. But it’s a good nickname regardless.
IMHO, Michelle's best move is to publicly call Rivera a coward who cannot back up his threat and then challenge him to a boxing match.
If Rivera accepts the challenge, he loses.
If he declines the challenge, he loses again.
No way out for him.
So Geraldo has two mammoth estates? Why doesn’t he open up his liberal heart and house some of these illegals in them? If the homes are that large, he could probably get 200 - 300 of them in each, thereby savings us taxpayers millions in welfare payments each year.
He’ll have to go a long way to beat Wilt Chamberlain.
I never underestimate the American TV viewer.
He has really returned to his roots as a gang member. It’s time Fox gives him the boot. He can’t compete with a class act like Michelle!

You are so right. And Fox needs to dump idiot, as these comments and his betrayal of his FOUR previous wives shows that he has significant problems in relating to women.
Think Ol' "Jerry Rivers" would say that bout a guy? Say some feller called the Motor City Madman..or something like that?
But keep in mind that mud-slinging low-lifes bring in viewers and boost ratings and ad revenues. That's all Fox cares about. It's why Rivera has survived in the industry for so long.
I lost all respect for Whore-aldo years ago. His nightly attempts to smear Ken Starr during the Clinton scandals were disgusting.
I also recall the time Clinton went to China and Whore-aldo tagged along. That was the trip where Clinton was under some pressure from Republicans and even some Democrats to denounce Chinese Communist suppression of dissidents. So Clinton got permission from the Beijing Commies to give a speech which included a few lines of mild criticism of human rights violations there. Whore-aldo took Clinton’s minor, miniscule, pre-approved criticism of the Commie government and made it sound like a courageous act of political rebellion. He claimed that Clinton screamed for human rights from the rooftops from the moment his plane landed in China, and that he practically got in the face of the Chinese brass and demanded that they stop oppressing their people. He said Clinton was so vociferous in demanding human rights that he was surprised the government didn’t force him to register as a political dissident. It was one of Whore-aldo’s most appalling displays of fake reporting.
Whore-aldo shouldn’t even be allowed on the same continent as the bright, beautiful, and honorable Michelle Malkin.

I've had many a debate with FReepers over the years regarding their support of the liberal whoraldo. So I know they're here and I know they exist.
No reason to include yourself in that group unless you are one of them.
