Confirmed: Larry Craig To Resign Tomorrow, Lt. Gov. Jim Risch to be Named to Senate

"How can this be a sex scandal if no sex was involved?"

1) Craig went out of his way to "go to the bathroom" in that particular men's room in a terminal distant from his own flight terminal where bathrooms were much closer at hand.

2) From postings on homosexual websites, it was well-known that the bathroom in question was the one homosexuals at the Minneapolis airport used for casual sex in a public place.

3) After entering the men's room, Craig cruised one of the stalls by peering through the crack at its door jam, while he waited 13 minutes to occupy the particular stall adjacent to it.

4) Craig then used all the agreed-upon homosexual "signals" for soliciting sex. The odds of somebody doing this by chance are nil.

5) During this time, Craig's hand and foot crossed the divider between the two stalls repeatedly, making physical contact with the undercover cop's foot at one point.

6) Craig's reaction and subsequent utterances at the time of arrest strongly suggest that he knew exactly why he was being arrested and exactly what signalling behavior he needed to deny or rationalize.

7) After failing to intimidate the arresting officer with his senatorial status, he did not retain legal counsel, he let it be known that he would not put up a court fight and gave every indication that he just wanted the matter over with -- quickly, cleanly and above all, quietly.

8) By dropping the more serious charge, the prosecutor's office made it very easy for Craig to follow through with his plea arrangement, paying the $575 fine and accepting the one year unsupervised probation in lieu of $1,000 fine and one year of incarceration.

9) More than two months later, when the Roll Call whistle blew, Craig had still not informed his wife, his lawyer, his colleagues or his staff of any of this.

10) Considered in its totality, the pattern of Craig's behavior from start to finish is that of a man intent on soliciting others to commit overt sexual acts in a public place. It was not the behavior a reasonable person would expect of somebody who was innocently using a public bathroom for its intended purpose.

It was Craig's ill fortune that a sting was in progress when he entered that men's room. It was his good fortune that both the arresting officer and the prosecutor were inclined toward leniency in exchange for a plea arrangement.

In the end, Craig has shown himself to be a blockhead.

Lt. Governor Risch and Family Biography Lieutenant Governor James Risch is a rancher and attorney from Ada County. He attended the University of Idaho where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 1965. He continued his education at the University of Idaho, receiving his Juris Doctor in 1968. From 1970 to 1974 Lieutenant Governor Risch worked as the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney; during this period he also taught law at Boise State University. In 1975 he was first elected to the Idaho State Senate, a position he held for 22 of the next 28 years. He spent 12 years as Majority Leader and six years as President Pro Tem. James was elected Lieutenant Governor of Idaho in November 2002. In June of 2006, James Risch became the 31st Governor of Idaho, and served in that position for seven months. Among those were a much needed property tax relief package, opening regional offices for constituent service, proposing an acclaimed plan to manage roadless areas, and a sundry of initiatives to streamline government, fight substance abuse, increase nursing education and improve transportation throughout the state. He was re-elected to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor in November Lieutenant Governor Risch is involved in many community activities. He is a member of the Idaho Cattleman’s Association, American and Idaho Angus Association, American and Idaho Bar Associations, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. He has also received many awards and honors including National Conference of State Legislators Leadership Award, Idaho Farm Bureau “Friend of Agriculture” and is a member of the Idaho Republican Hall of Fame. James has been married to his wife Vicki for 38 years. They have three sons James, Jason and Jordan, two daughter-in-laws Jennifer and Jeannette, as well as six grandchildren.

The head of the Dem party in Idaho is already asking the gov. NOT to name the Lt. Gov., but to appoint an elder statesman to finish out Craig's term because it wouldn't be fair to appt. the Lt. Gov. --per Fox news on Brit Hume Spec. Report. They don't want a headstart on the Senate Race for Risch next year.

You have to hand it to the Dems for having brass balls. I just wish some Repubs would have a transplant.

The ratings are based on how a politician votes. How could the ratings be deceptive? If anything, it is the politicians that are deceptive.

Remember also what happened in 1982. In no time after one of the male pages claimed to have had sex with a couple of unnamed Congressman, Craig held a presser to deny he was one of them. Even though no one had claimed he was.

In retrospect, I have to wonder if that wasn’t a man who protested too much.

Picking a handful of votes is a very arbitrary thing.

Aside from the question of whether a conservative would solicit sex in a public men’s room; ask:

1. Would a conservative push amnesty for illegals the way Craig did?
and
2. Would a conservative be co-chair of the Romney campaign?
