Sure, a wide variety of opinions and beliefs, but none of them are an excuse for bad behavior and malfeasance in office.

We treat these guys royally and pay them handsomely. If they can behave and appreciate the opportunity given to them, they don’t deserve reelection.

Remember, it is our congressional seat, not theirs. They have no inherent claim to it. They serve at our pleasure. Perhaps we need to show our displeasure more and royal treatment less.

If a guilty plea to a misdemeanor violates the rules of the Senate, the Senate will deal with him.

It seems strange to me that Clinton can have 120 donors flee the country and take the fifth and his wife repeats the same track with impunity.

The demo House and Senate can have member run a chickenhawk sponsored call-boy ring out of their condo and be Congressional Committee chairman in their wake.

As we see with the Clinton’s it isn’t just a difference in sexual morals and standards, but an entire system or tolerating any level of personal behavior.

This is a strenght of pulling together that is only in part useful. The repellent nature and its effect on the middle part of the electorate is the hidden downfall.

It is alright for us to censor and condemn, but as the Richard Jewell tragedy taught, the apparent guilty aren’t always guilty and we should allow people to seek repentance and rehabilitation in public office as in private life.

I don’t know what is going to play out with this guy, but I will start by letting the Senate and the Republican Caucus do their due diligence. His personal sphere may take action as time proceeds as well. Rhetoric that implies that I should get ready to march on the Capital is what I am belittling in my comments.
